Example of non-compliant to sinage bylaws

In Auckland, a number of off-licence stores have been found to breach the bylaw in terms of the display of sandwich boards. In general, the rules under the Auckland Council Signage Bylaw are:

  • Sandwich boards must not be placed on any road or verge unless this is directly outside the store;
  • Only one board is allowed per store;
  • Boards must be 'waist height' and the width of your arm (or 1.2m high and 0.6m wide).

The following photos show likely non-compliant signs (being out on the curb a long way from the store or being oversized). Click here to download the photos.
